EDUC 260

Theories of Coaching

The study of coaching research, theory, and practice as applied to sports and exercise. Coaching behavior, including decision-making and the development of athletic expertise, is a key focus. The pedagogy of coaching is examined through the application of specific research-based practices and differentiation across ability levels and type of sport activity. Students are exposed to problem-solving ethical dilemmas that may arise in the coaching context.
