Teaching Language Arts in Middle and Elementary Schools

A practical approach to teaching middle, elementary, and pre-school language arts instruction including listening, speaking, writing, reading, and viewing, with emphasis on integrating instruction within the language arts. Additional emphases are placed on the contemporary classroom, which is assumed to contain children of diverse cultures and learning abilities; incorporating technology in language arts lessons; assessing for language arts instruction; and developing higher-level thinking skills to help children apply their developing abilities to different situations, materials, and ideas.
