Medical Administrative Assistant I

This course will provide the student with the knowledge, skills and behaviors required of a medical administrative assistant in todays healthcare arena. The medical administrative assistants role related to the scope of practice will be explored. Students will learn how to use therapeutic communication across the life-span. Medical law and ethics will be examined. The student will gain an understanding of how the medical administrative assistant plays a key role in administration functions, technology, handling telephone calls and scheduling in a medical practice.
