Medical Administrative Assistant II

This course will build on the knowledge gained in the Medical Administrative Assistant I course to provide the student with the knowledge, skills and behaviors required of a medical administrative assistant in todays healthcare arena. The basic principles of pharmacology related to the practice of the medical assistant will be explored. The student will gain an understanding of how the medical administrative assistant plays a key role in administrative functions, the health record, coding, health insurance and medical billing procedures in a medical practice. This course will also ensure that the medical assistant maintains competency in safety and emergency practices.
