Social Work and International Practice (3-0). This course will examine Social Work Practice at an International level, focusing on globalization and its social, economic, political, and cultural consequences; comparative social policies; and social and economic development as strategies of change and progress. To accomplish these, an understanding of socio-cultural differences is crucial to practice overseas or in our own international communities. Topics to be covered will include, but not limited to: AIDS/HIV, migration, refugees, healthcare, human trafficking, and human rights.
