Study of advanced aspects of American Sign Language. Emphasizes advanced narrative fluency. Focus on temporal aspects, when clauses, classifiers, and mouth morphemes. Develops advanced narrative skills such as inflecting verbs, durative aspect, and transitions. Discussion of various aspects of American Deaf culture with a focus on literary tradition. Outside assignments require practice and assessment with video programs. Field trips required.
