Topics covered include differences between first and second language acquisition, including age, biology, cognitive styles, personality, sociocultural factors, and linguistic variables; in addition, various models, techniques and approaches to L2 teaching are covered. Special attention is given to the unique demographics and characteristics of language minority students in California's public schools.
