Comparative Animal and Human Physiology

A study of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions of animals and human beings. Using basic cell and tissue activities as a starting point, this course considers how the various organs and organ systems operate to provide ways of getting, distributing, and utilizing nutrients, excreting waste, maintaining a near constant internal environment despite changes in the external environment, providing movement, allowing both rapid and slower communications between and among these systems, and reproducing the organism. Credit cannot be applied toward a biology major for both BIOL 206 and 331. Lectures and laboratories
