Classical Art and Architecture

This is a study of the major arts of ancient Greek and Roman civilization from the Bronze Age to the late Empire. The course devotes attention to the origins and development of Greek sculpture, painting, and architecture, and to their transformation in the arts of Rome. Ancient literary sources supplement the study of material culture in this investigation of Greek and Roman culture. This course can satisfy the core requirement in the arts
