Advanced Practices in Exercise Science

An in-depth survey of clinical exercise physiology, disease and disability, and practical application of prescriptive exercise throughout the lifespan. Emphasis will be placed on advanced health and fitness appraisal and exercise prescription for specific populations (youth, adults, pregnancy, elderly) and disease modalities (cardiovascular, pulmonary, neuromuscular, orthopedic, immunologic). Exercise counseling and behavior strategies, as well as legal, professional, and management topics will be discussed. The course includes critique and design of research in exercise science and a personal training practicum
