God and Philosophy

A sustained philosophical reflection on the nature and existence of God, addressing such questions as the rationality of belief in God, the role of evidence in religious belief, the problem of evil, the suffering of God, the point of prayer, the use of gendered language about God, the fate of sincere believers in non-Christian religions, and the existence of hell. Students taking this course to fulfill the integrative studies requirement of the core must have the following prerequisites in addition to PHIL 153: two courses in religion
