This course presents historical, philosophical, sociological and psychological interpretations of the nature of science, its implications for scientific literacy, and methodologies related to implementation in the science classroom. Through discussions, readings, and scientific activities/investigations, students will experience and consider how teachers, textbooks, and science curricula both accurately and inaccurately portray science. Students will also modify and develop lesson plans in order to more accurately represent and teach the nature of science to students
