Focuses on a survey of major theories, the logic of communication inquiry, techniques in literature search and review, and the skills in critiquing research. Also examines the structure and logic of the scientific method, as well as different research methodologies and when they are employed. Introduces students to key principles of design, sampling, reliability and validity, measurement, and hypothesis testing.
