This course will introduce key elements of curriculum and teaching and the ways in which assessment practices may be used to support and enhance teaching and learning in kindergarten through grade three settings. Specifically, students will spend 75 hours in the field and 37.5 hours in the classroom (primarily in field location) focusing on Planning, Implementing, and Reflecting on Teaching and Learning; Curriculum Content and Organization; Assessment; Child Guidance and Classroom Environments. Ongoing reflection on and analysis of each intern's teaching and learning will take place guided by the Essential Question for Rotation 2: How do I use theory, planning, teaching, and assessment together to create student success? Content from Rotation 1 will be revisited and interns' understanding and application of previously introduced content will be enhanced and deepened. All students enrolled in this class must have a valid and unexpired Clearance Report from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on file with the college advising office.
