Introduces students to methods of analyzing decisions and expert opinions, including probability and utility models. Emphasizes behavioral methods of consulting decision makers and groups of experts. Students learn how to organize, conduct, and report on meetings of groups of experts to produce consensus decision models. A hands-on workshop that introduces tools and applies them to realistic tasks. Because students learn by doing, most classroom time is devoted to practice runs instead of didactic lectures. Most examples used in lectures come from analyses of decisions made by managers in the service industry.
