Open only to music education majors. Students will develop skills and techniques for planning, delivering, and evaluating developmentally appropriate general music instruction grounded in theories of music learning, and the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive developmental characteristics of children. Topics include traditional and nontraditional music teaching approaches and methodologies, classroom management, assessment, and technology appropriate to general music teaching and learning. Course requires 15 hours of field experience.
