This course addresses psychiatric/mental health of children and adolescents through examination of theories and conceptual frameworks. Different interventions and therapy modalities will be explored. Epidemiological data and research will be examined as a basis to aid in identification of those at risk for mental health issues. By examining child and adolescent mental health disorders and their comorbidities, students will learn to diagnose and treat children and adolescents to improve psychiatric/mental health. NOTE: Students must be successful in companion course NUR 828 in order to receive a passing grade in this course (NUR 827).
