Criminal Justice Systems

Course provides an overview of the development and function of the criminal justice system in the United States. Examines theories of justice and punishment; emergence and development of contemporary police and court systems; structure and functioning of corrections; corrections as a form of social control; and the roles or criminal justice personnel, including police, parole, and correctional officers.
