I really have a hard time here. Communication is not a part of student life. The vibe of every student is out for themself is encouraged by some professors. The administration building is never opened or closed on time. They usually close early and open late. There are a lot of safety concerns with the women's locker room. I haven't felt safe after a malicous experience with males. It's very hard to speak to, or find someone to help you if you're having an issue. The classes are a bit overpriced for Junior level. The beauty of the campus can quickly be overshadowed with bigger issues at hand. I had an issue with a professor however she was also the chair of the entire department and taught the majority of the classes. This monopoly kept my voice silenced about any complaints I had about this professor. I think this school needs leadership to help communicate with students. The insite portal has issues and seems to work well as a secondary feature but not a main. If a leader could come in with classic communication skills I think they would be on their way to success but for now I wouldn't want any one to go through this

I'm majoring in sociology and the sociology teachers are amazing. The only downside is that there are a few classes only offered in spring

I wish Contra Costa had more flexible classes. It is also very hard to schedule around a steady work week. For example, it would be easier having three classes a week at a shorter time then having one long class for the week.

Contra Costa is a community college, the class sizes are small. The professors that I have witnessed care a lot about their students and their students success. However, sometimes the class material can be too easy.

I am part of the nursing program at contra costa college. I like that the campus is newer, but I disliked a lot of my professors. The campus food is overpriced and not very good, but I've passed all of my classes.
