The class visits many field sites in Ecuador where students examine plants at diverse climatic, elevational and vegetational settings. Students identify plants, observe and dissect material, and become familiar with economically important tropical and temperate plants and plant communities. The course is conducted with a group of Ecuadorian botanists and students from our Ecuadorian sister university, Universidad Estatal de Bolvar.
