MICR 6362

Molecular Virology

Offered in alternating spring semesters; meets 6 hours/week for semester. A lecture and discussion course taught largely from the primary literature. This course covers molecular biologic aspects of the viral lifecycle as well as virus-host interactions, viral evolution, viral transmission and pathogenesis. Experimental approaches used to study these aspects of virology are particularly stressed.
