MICR 6800

Microbial Pathogenesis

The objective of this course is to expose students to the current understanding of microbial pathogenesis in humans. Topics will focus on how pathogens modify, disrupt, and utilize cellular functions for their own purposes. The significance of these interactions in terms of both pathogenesis and host cell biology will be discussed. The format will consist of a combination of lectures, critical readings of the primary literature, and student presentations. Heavy emphasis will be placed on student participation.
