NRSE 3900

Care of Child Bearing Families, Children, and Persons with Mental Illness

Provides theoretical content related to population-based care of the childbearing family, including the reproductive health of adolescents and adults. Health promotion and illness care of the infant through adolescent client with emphasis on physical and developmental assessment, evidence-based nursing intervention to promote and restore health and the developmental implication of hospitalization. Includes the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of mental health across the lifespan with emphasis on patient safety, therapeutic communication, psychopathology, and evidence-based treatment.
