This course provides the general method as a practice framework for beginning social work practice and moves the beginning generalist practitioner to more complex macro systems. Emphasis is placed on the problem-solving techniques of problem identification, research, and data collection, assessment, design and selection of planned change strategies, implementation, and evaluation. Nondiscriminatory practice is reinforced. Students are required to participate in community-based learning experiences that incorporate program planning and development activities. Requires formal admission to the Social Work major.
