Health Communication

The field and study of health communication is vast and at times ambiguous. This course will examine the multitude and dimensions of what is health communication and provide students with the opportunity to define health communication. A review of health communication through an examination of theoretical frameworks, communication techniques and technologies that promote the health of individuals, communities, and populations will be used to provide students with a working knowledge of the importance and influence of communicating health. Additionally, this course will look at how health messages are created and how they influence us as they appear in our lives, from media as well as from relationships with others, both personal and otherwise
