Designed to accompany the production of the choral/orchestral masterwork, which is performed every spring semester. Topics include: a) the history of the work(s) as it relates to genre-type and dates of composition, b) the ethnicity, geography of birth/living, personal and professional experiences, and compositional style of the composer as it relates to the why of the composition, and c) the composition itself in regards to form, text, and historical significance
