EMS Pathophysiology

Pathophysiology is the study of physiologic functions in an abnormal state. It is necessary for the paramedic student to understand human pathophysiology in order to recognize injury or illness that occurs in the human body, and to be able to anticipate changes in the injured or ill patients condition. Principles of pathophysiology will be presented to the student, and the student will learn to recognize pathophysiological findings in many body systems including but not limited to the circulatory system, the musculoskeletal system, the respiratory system and abnormal neurological findings. Two hours lecture per week
