Emergency Medical Care

Emergency Medical Care introduces the paramedic student to commonly encountered illnesses and non-traumatic emergencies. Focus will be placed on neurology, endocrinology, immunology, gastroenterology, nephrology, toxicology, infectious disease, psychiatric and behavior disorders, and obstetrics/gynecology. Instruction will integrate assessment findings with principles of epidemiology and pathophysiology to formulate a field impression and treatment plan. Three hours of lecture per week
