Students will complete Advanced Greek Reading, specifically in taking vocabulary down to words that occur ten times or more in the NT, and will learn to sight-read the most difficult NT Greek texts. At the instructor’s discretion, students may also be required to translate passages of the LXX as well as extracanonical classical, Hellenistic, and patristic Greek, noting developments within the language (historical grammar). The course includes additional experience in basic exegetical skills, composition, and readings in points of linguistics and advanced grammar. Other areas may be added at the instructor’s discretion. This course can be credited as a New Testament Bible elective.
