This course continues to explore the relationship between the development of Christianity and Western culture from the late medieval context through the Reformation and the modern and postmodern eras. The course examines the intellectual, social, and cultural history of the West as it relates to Christian life and thought. Special attention is given to the origins and outworking of the Reformation in Western culture. The course demonstrates the ongoing mutual nature of influence between Christianity and social, political, and philosophical currents of Western life.
