Second Language Acquisition

This is an introduction to the theories, methods, and techniques of acquiring a second language. The focus of the course is on field methods rather than traditional language instruction in a classroom setting. The course is a blend of theoretical discussions and practical application and includes a major component whereby students will periodically meet with a speaker of another language to begin acquiring that language.
