An introduction to environmental ethics. Consideration to ethical theories and values as they apply to the natural environment. Emphasis on ethical aspects of such practical issues as preserving wilderness areas and wetlands, species extinction, population dynamics, forestry and mining policies, waste disposal, recycling, animal rights and liberation, domestic uses of animals and pets, sustainable agriculture, pesticide and herbicide usage, the status of embryos, genetics, biotechnology, animals as food, animal experimentation, economics, and the impact of environmental policies on diverse cultures and developing nations
