BIO 3010

ANIMAL PHYSIOLOGY

This course studies functional adaptations in selected vertebrates and invertebrates which are necessary to maintain homeostasis and promote survival . Emphasis is placed on the role of the nervous and endocrine systems in organismic regulation. Lab exercises study cell permeability and metabolism, and use computerized recording equipment to record muscle contractions. Pedagogy in the lab is based on inquiry-based, collaborative approach to conducting and reporting investigations.
