CRI 2440

LAW ENFORCEMENT & THE COMMUNITY

This course will provide an introduction to the history, function, and role of law enforcement in American society. Particular focus will be given to the relationship between law enforcement agencies and personnel and the communities they serve with emphasis placed on policing in a culturally-diverse society. The course will also include information on recommendations for ways that law enforcement and communities can work together to reduce crime and respond to crime once it has been detected.
