ED 5551

TEACHING SOCIAL STUDIES TO ADOLESCENTS

Research validated strategies and sound alignment among goals, objectives, instruction and outcomes assessment provide the framework for planning social studies lessons which will be presented to pupils in the field. Strategies for accommodating pupils with disabilities will be addressed. Ways to incorporate technology in teaching will be explored. Students must earn a grade of at least B in this course to be eligible for student teaching (ED 5464 or ED 5466). Fieldwork is required.
