ENG 2040

FOUNDATIONS OF LITERARY STUDIES

An introduction to the critical reading and writing skills necessary for success within the discipline of English. Students will become familiar with various critical approaches to literature and with the terminology associated with literary studies. In this writing intensive course, students will do close reading of literary texts and write researched, documented essays on such texts. A grade of C or better is required to continue as an English major. Students who earn less than a C may repeat this course only once.
