ENG 4900

ENGLISH CAPSTONE SEMINAR

An extensive and detailed study of a literary topic designed to raise each student’s awareness of his or her own critical practice. Building on the English major’s knowledge of theoretical approaches as well as the critical reading, writing and research skills developed in the major, students work closely with the instructor to create a research project culminating in a 15 page documented essay that demonstrates both original work and familiarity with relevant scholarship. Seminar topics vary depending on the instructor’s area of expertise.
