HEALTH CARE POLICIES AND PROGRAMS

This is a foundational course which provides students with a basic and thorough understanding of the U.S. health care system and enables them to draw comparisons between the U.S. system and systems in other countries. The course focuses on how these differ with respect to how health care is organized, delivered and financed. In addition, the course will address issues of access, quality of care, and costs. Students will understand the U.S. health care policy-making process at the federal, state, and local levels.
