The format of this course will target the development of the conceptual framework and analytical skills that are required for an understanding of addictions. The application of a lifespan systems perspective will be highlighted. Emphasis will be placed on developing an understanding of: history, presentation and treatment approaches associated with "developmental-addictions". The general focus is that students will be expected to study basic and advanced concepts associated with the theory and application of addictive behavior.
