TRANSITION TO PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE FOR RNs

This course will focus on the importance of professional practice and role development for Registered Nurses advancing to baccalaureate preparation. It will build on historical, philosophical, and theoretical foundations of professional practice. Topics will include professional issues, communication, cultural influences, trends in technology, and legal/ethical aspects that influence nursing practice. Discussions will focus on the integration of multidisciplinary, client-focused care to promote health and disease prevention used in current health care environments. Students will review the skills of inquiry and analysis, with an emphasis on scholarly writing.
