NUR 3045

HEALTH POLICY

This course will provide the nurse with an overview of the development, implementation, and evaluation of health care policy on local, national and international levels. The impact of health care policies on stakeholders, including clients, families, health care providers, insurers, and tax payers, will be considered. Cost, equitable access to care, and quality of care will be discussed. Emphasis will be on the role of the nurse and professional nursing organizations in understanding and influencing health policy. This course requires 5 to 10 clinical hours.
