PSYCHOLOGY OF MEDICAL DECISION MAKING

This course will examine psychological research on judgment and decision making as applied to medicine, from the points of view of both the patient and physician. Heuristics and biases, as well as social and emotional influences on decision making, will be explored. We will learn about common traps related to judgment and risk communication, in order to consider how to better health care communication and diagnoses.
