IEP AND TRANSITION PLANNING

The focus of the course is psycho-educational assessment of students referred as having disabilities and using the results of that assessment to develop individual educational programs (IEPs) that are valid for individual students and that conform with NYS Part 200 Regulations for Students with Disabilities. As part of this process, candidates will demonstrate knowledge of state regulations regarding transition planning and will learn to apply this knowledge to preparing IEPs that include appropriate transition assessment, measurable post-secondary goals, and transition activities.
