PSY 3700

METACOGNITIVE AND SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR PUPILS WITH DISABILITIES

This course will focus on pupils with or at risk for disabilities and particularly on research on: 1. cognitive processing by such pupils and on metacognitive strategy training and content enhancement for reading comprehension, written expression, and mathematical reasoning. 2. research on and methods of using cooperative learning to foster positive social interactions among pupils with and without disabilities; 3. skills of collaborating with colleagues and parents to support the development of such pupils. Field work is required.
