CASE MANAGEMENT: SPECIAL POPULATIONS

The format of this course is to provide an introduction and overview of case management. Specific emphasis will be placed on special populations. The material, that is to be studied, will provide insight leaning toward an understanding of the application of a systems approach. Emphasis will be placed on developmental aspects of family process. In addition, the major models of casework, case management and family treatment will be explored. The general focus is that students will be expected to study basic concepts associated with theory and practice. It is the intent, within this framework, to link the readings with application. Targets exploring the task of engaging an individual/family system and implementing the process and evaluation of the strategy will be reviewed.
