LAW AND SOCIETY

This course will introduce students to the nature, functions, limitations, and objectives of law in society and how it functions in society. Specifically, students will be introduced to law and its relationship to selected problems in society. Some focus will be given to how power (e.g., economic, political, social influence) is related to the definition, enforcement, and sanctioning of crime. Students will also consider ethical issues involved in the application of laws to society. Cross Listed Courses: CRI 3300
