RACE, GENDER AND SOCIETY

This course reviews theories about the causes of racism and sexism. It investigates how these biases influence such important societal functions as schooling, housing, jobs, and justice. It explores the historical conditions of race and gender in the U.S. and also examines how these dimensions intersect.
