SOC 4710

COMMUNITY ACTION

This course is designed for the student with a strong social background who is interested in helping people in the community and who seeks a greater understanding of the social worker's role and of the ways in which social services agencies operate. The student will be placed in a field work situation where he/she will work with cases that are tailored as much as possible to his/her interest, e.g. the elderly, teen-age boys, etc. Supervision will be provided by the professor, with the assistance of a representative of each of the agencies in which the student works.
