Introduction to Art Education
Overview of the history of art and design education and its philosophical premises. Examination of opportunities and approaches to teaching art and design. Study of developmental characteristics of the learner. Practice in use of instructional materials and construction of lesson plans. Directed observation and supervised participation with a variety of populations and circumstances in elementary level school settings for a minimum of 25 hours of clinical experience
