Microbial Systematics and Diversity

Understanding the metabolic diversity of bacteria and archaea through selective culturing, isolation, and determinative testing. Cultivate and characterize microbial species of importance to the environment, human health, and the food and biofuel/bioenergy industries. One weekly lecture and two three-hour laboratory sessions
